Due to popular demand (Pretty sure at least three of us there in 2024 thought it a good idea).

Rooney Tune is now annual!

Calm down, deep breaths. We’re all excited.

But, yes, it is true, if the stars don’t align for you one year you needn’t wait 4 years between seeing us all.

The thinking (loosely termed) is to have one year in mid to late August and the following in mid to late September. This slight variation in timing providing other advantages:

• Riders coming down from the Far North can enjoy a little cooler ride. The mean low for Copmanhurst in mid August is ‘only’ about 3c cooler than mid September.

• Clashes with other rides a few like to attend are more easily accommodated. For example the ‘Off Centre’, occurring every other year in August and the annual Far Cairn in September. The Copmanhurst Camp Draft also occurs in the latter part of September each year.

The Fine Print: The Sport and Recreation ground has suffered from the effects of flooding leading to the ‘temporary’ closure of some facilities. I am making further enquiries on that and will update here. However, should the grounds be unavailable a nearby alternative with the same level of amenities will be found.
